This is a simple fix to stop the filament from getting pushed underneath the print bed or getting tangled with the motor wires. It is not perfect but I am just putting this out for anyone who might find it useful.

This is intended to only work with the default filament holder that comes included with the printer and in the default position.

Instructions:

  • Printing
    • I used 4 walls and 15% infill with PLA. You can use whatever you think will work.
    • You will need to lay the model flat and at a 45-degree angle for it to fit properly.
  • Installation
    • You can either remove the anti-tangle material rack or duct tape it down like I did. This allows the filament to back feed into the filament roll.
    • Remove the filament holder arm and slide the print over it. It's a little tight but it will go on.
    • Reattach the arm.
    • Ensure the filament is lined up properly and on the correct side of the guide.
    • Lastly, test it by having the printer home itself. This will lift the head up and to the left and then back down. Check to make sure the filament isn't getting stuck and is staying inside of the guide.
