Jimmy Ipock's cartridge mod for the Atari Flashback 2 is a neat little mod... I just wasn't a big fan of how much epoxy you had to use to install it, and how permanent a solution that would be. (Lord forbid anything breaks)
So I decided to engineer it to be bolted into place, adding short M3 heat-set inserts. I also combined the cartridge slot and the connector sleeve pieces as I didn't see any use for them being separate.
There is still ONE piece that has to be glued in, the switch housing needs to be glued in to its spot on the cartridge slot, but everything else works fine with bolts.
The switch I was using worked best with M2.5 screws… The recess should fit an appropriate nut
The author remixed this model.
Combined the Cartridge Slot and Connector Sleeve into one part, widened the slot a bit to allow for heat-set inserts, also added heat-set inserts for the ribbon connector. Modified the cutting template to remove the unneeded notch, added holes to the switch sleeve to allow the switch to be held in place with screws
