This Remix exchanges the 12x2mm and 10x5x2mm magnets for much cheaper 6x2mm magnets (and M3 nuts), while still being usable without any problems.
This remix provides 2 different variants :
- one using only 6x2mm Magnets, which results in stronger magnetic forces keeping your pieces in place
- one replacing half of the 6x2mm Magnets with ferromagnetic M3 Nuts. I personally wouldn't recommend this version since its quite finicky sourcing actually ferromagnetic nuts that will properly fit, and it usually doesn't even save enough money to be worth the hassle.
Parts you will need :
- 380 6x2mm Magnets or 190 6x2mm Magnets + 190 ferromagnetic M3 nuts
- 2 6000 Bearings
- 1 30cm M10 Rod
- Super Glue
Parts you will need to print :
- 18x Hexagon (print the 6x2mm Variants if you want to only use Magnets, if you want to use M3 nuts print the M3 Version)
- 12x Pentagon (print 1 of the 2 versions depending on your choice here aswell)
- 1x Top (print 1 of the 2 versions depending on your choice)
- 1x Bottom (use stl from the original Model)
- 1x Stand (use stl from the original Model)
- 1x Every Isle
- 2x Tile Ice and Tile Desert
- 4x Tile Ore, Grain, Lumber, Brick
- 5x Tile Wool
- 4x Play Sets in different Colors, one Set Consists of :
- 15 Road Pieces
- 5 Villages
- 4 Cities
- 1x Number tokens
- 1x Robber
- ~200x Magnet adapters if you only use Magnets or M3 Nut Adapters if you use M3 Nuts, more details in the assembly guide
For general Assembly refer to Rossero's Guide in the original model, here are some specifics for this remix :
- Use Super glue to fix the Magnets / M3 nuts in place
- For the Magnets that go between the Hexagons / Pentagons, print out the appropriate Adapters which adapt the 6x2mm Magnets / M3 Nuts to a form factor which allows them to be installed just like the 12x2mm Magnets in the original Model
- A Lot of sellers on Amazon actually sell 6x1.6mm Magnets even tho they advertise 6x2mm. If that is the case, print out the appropriate 6x1.6mm adapters if you go full magnets
