An alternative to the original base plate of the Cafelat Robot with the following changes:
- flatter center profile for increased filter basket and scale clearance
- leveled bottom surface for accurate scale readings
- flush-mounted base design for stable countertop placement
- extended footprint for improved stability and accessory placement (like a shot mirror)
Printing recommendations:
- PLA is fine, but keep in mind that it ages when exposed to light
- use 3 walls to prevent wear around the screws and achieve good torsional rigidity
- 20% infill should be used, also for weight reasons (feels sturdy, the robot is top-heavy)
- the whole thing becomes even more solid when more solid top and bottom layers are generated in the slicer (i use 5), especially on the area where the screws are tightened
The author remixed this model.
Simpler, larger, not for a specific scale, a bit more clearance between the “legs” for scales and accessories and level bottom.
