I've been using the “Cat litter scoop” from @EvaMika_51631 for a few months now. EvaMika offers this scoop as a two-part model that has to be glued after printing, but also as a complete scoop that is printed in one printing process. It can be found here: https://www.printables.com/model/75759-cat-litter-scoop

The model for gluing did not last long in my case, at some point the handle detached from the shovel. I must have used the wrong glue. The complete model that I printed afterwards was better, but broke after a few weeks. I then printed this scoop enlarged to 120% - and was very happy with it for a long time. I can highly recommend the (slightly larger) model.

The plot twist
However, I have now changed the cat litter. Away from bentonite and towards organic cat litter. Because it is coarser, the old scoop no longer worked. According to the cat litter manufacturer, the individual grains have a diameter of around 7 mm. Too big for my old scoop.

I therefore designed my own scoop, which is based on the good (120%) model from EvaMika in terms of shape and size.

My first version had hexagonal holes with a core diameter of 7.5 mm. This was not yet good enough for the requirements, the holes were too small for this litter. That's why I made another model with 8.5 mm hexagonal holes.
The final improvement was to make the side parts a little higher and to close some of the hexagons in the front so that you can collect smaller pieces without them falling through the holes again.
For me, this is now the optimum solution.

I printed my model from PETG, with six walls, four solid layers on the bottom, 30% grid infill, an organic support under the end of the handle (painted supports), in the speed profile of my Prusa MK4S.
If the PETG is dried beforehand, the quality should be very good.

I also designed a holder for the scoop that I can attach to the litter box. This can be printed very easily and without supports. I used PLA Plus here and printed with four walls, leaving the rest of the MK4S Speed profile as standard.
In a first attempt I had some warping. I was able to avoid this by using an inner (!) brim of 10 mm. This was very easy to remove after printing with a deburring tool.

If you are looking for a cat litter scoop but don't like my model, please try EvaMika's model. And leave a like there ;-)
