Regarding the original-original design, I like the idea of gluing the base to the inside of the lid. However, I didn't want the mesh to be permanently glued as well.
Regarding the original of this remix, I liked the idea of using bolts to hold everything together. However I didn't want to cut holes into my lid in case I wanted to remove the container for any reason.
So I cut hex pockets into the base. That way, an M5 nut can be added before gluing the base to the inside of the lid. I then cut pockets into the mesh to recess the head of the bolt used.
If using supports, trimming inside the holes may be needed. I had to trim a few of the nut holes to get them in but once it was cleaned up, they fit quite well.
If your overhang settings are dialed in, you should be okay to not use supports.
Overall the print fits snug into the lid, potentially snug enough to not require gluing to the lid.
20mm M5 bolts fit very well and stay flush on both sides
The hex holes are 9.5mm corner to corner and the round holes are 10mm
Base/Mesh1 have a thread size of 3.5mm
Base/Mesh2 have a thread size of 5mm
The author remixed this model.
I cut recessed hex pockets in the base and added recessed hole in the mesh.
