Was looking for some storage solution for the family Jenga as the box was already shredded by kids. What i found was roughly the same weight as the Jenga itself, i said No WAY!!!
Call me cheap, but i like my prints to be effective AND cost-effective, thats why im not willing to spend 250-400gr of filament for a simple storage box (with the average price of 18€/kilo it goes to about 7€ for just the material, electricity and machine time raise the base cost even more ), so i came up with this:
1.No supports needed
2.Around 105 grams of filament, the rest you buy from the chinese bazar for around 5€
3.Roughly 1.5 hours of print and youre done.
4.Assembly is straightforward, no special tools needed, no screws required.
5.Files are made for both 10x3mm or 8x5mm neodymium magnets.
So, files are in the correct orientation already, what you need from the chinese bazar/hardware store is 12x ⌀8x310 mm wooden rods( DIY section ) and 8x 10x3mm/8x5mm neodymium magnets( office consumables ). BE CAREFUL with the polarity of the magnets once assembled, easy to confuse and once stuck with superglue, very hard to correct them, i recommend putting the magnets once the wooden rods are in place.
The base plate is mandatory accessory for the setup, it serves as a raiser for you to storage the game as well as playing it, made it wide enough to be as stable as possible, and the top-tip design is effective both in-game and cost-wise.
Its a 0.4mm multicolor print, colors are up to your taste and preference. I did it on a non-multicolor machine (Ender 3 V3 core XZ) and with the required for the task elbow grease it turned out ok.
0.2mm height, 3 perimeters , 3/3 top/bottom layers, infill type of your choice on 10% density, PLA works just fine.
I would love to see some makes and comments . Cheers!!!
