The Durston X-Dome tent can be reinforced by using a trekking pole at each end of the cross bar. If you don't use trekking poles, Durston also sells the Z-Flick poles that are very light at only 88 g per piece. However, the X-Dome is not designed with a grommet like the X-Mids and instead expects the rounded end of a trekking pole handle. In addition, the Z-Flick has no way to hook the tieout loop to the end of it to tension the pole against.

To solve this, I designed a two-piece adapter for the Z-Flick poles. One end is simply just a ball to distribute the force against the tent fabric. The other end is pointy so that it doesn't slide around on the ground and it also has a hook to put the tieout loop around. You can check out Dan's pitching video for an illustration of how it's supposed to work.

With my print settings of 4 walls and 10% infill, two sets weigh approximately 53 grams which is still slightly lighter of a setup than a pair of Iceline trekking poles. For the true ultralighters out there, if you tinker with print settings you can probably bring that down further.

The fit onto the poles is intentionally pretty tight. If you feel it's too tight, you can just scale the models by a few percent, no other dimensions are critical. Or tweak the included STEP files, for that matter.
