"Who thought it was a great idea to design a large, bright blue siren that not only attracts attention but also openly advertises the brand of your alarm system? It's not only impractical but, let’s face it, not exactly easy on the eyes. I hadn’t even noticed these sirens in use—maybe because they stand out so much!

But now, you can fix that!

This is a replacement cover for the Ring alarm siren. You can customize it with a clear finish, your house number, or even your name.

Installation Instructions

  1. Remove the 8 silicone caps and unscrew the blue cover.
  2. The original and replacement cover fit snugly, so apply a bit of force to remove the old one and snap the new one into place.
  3. Reuse the screws and silicone caps from the original cover.

Printing Recommendations

  • Material: Print with PETG for durability.
    • Clear PETG for the Cover.
    • For the numbers, use black PETG.
    • If supports are needed, use white PLA for easier removal.
  • Settings:
    • 5 top and bottom layers to ensure no infill is visible.
    • 2 walls are sufficient.
    • Use a 0.6mm nozzle with a layer height of >0.2mm for a clearer finish.
    • 10% infill with a Hilbert Curve bottom pattern for a more diffuse look.
    • Support settings: Only on the build plate and 0mm support contact to avoid bonding issues between PLA and PETG.

Optional Tip

If the internal electronics are visible, you can add a paper inlay for a cleaner look.

Printing Details

  • Print time: Approx. 8 hours.
  • Weight: ~250g.

Note: Due to upcoming EU regulations regarding software liability, I won’t upload my G-code. However, the included STEP files give you full flexibility for customization.
