This is a custom HDD caddy for the original Xbox. Transferring files over FTP is capped at 10MB/s, which can be painfully slow. I wanted a faster way to move files by taking the drive out and connecting it directly to my PC.
The problem is, removing the drive the normal way is a hassle. You have to take the system apart and unscrew the drive every time. That’s why I designed this caddy. It fits into the DVD drive slot and makes removing the drive super easy. Just press on the Xbox logo, and the caddy can be pulled out!
The project files include a PDF with a parts list and a step-by-step assembly guide to help you. Make sure you read the additional notes at the bottom of the PDF as well.
Tested working with a 1.3 Xbox.
