This is still a work in progress and requires permanent modification to your blaster!

A different approach to the Nerf Rayven expanded battery door, this time with an included expansion wall for the tray! The battery door was designed for use with a thumb screw (the threads for mine was 16mm long) which should be fairly easy to source.

You will be required to remove one side of the original battery tray wall for this to work and need to use either Devcon or Permatex plastic welder to attach the new wall in place. While the plastic welders are setting, I suggest locking the battery door in place to ensure everything is lined up properly since it will be incredibly difficult to remove the parts once the welder has set. I do suggest taking smaller and slower cuts to ease the wall into the right position.

If you are planning to paint your blaster or use some type of filler putty then you can be a little more aggressive on your cuts and fill up any mistakes afterwards.

If you DON'T plan to paint, then this is going to take a lot of patience to get it right.

I'm hoping to get a cutting guide made up at some point to help with this mod but for now the images I have are the best reference to go off of.

  • Added flat battery door for those that wanted it. Haven't been able to test print so please let me know if something doesn't fit!

Cheers!

*Edit - Added an image with new tray dimensions after modifications. This is assuming that you also cut away part of the shell to maximize all of the space (what I had marked on the blaster in the images). The door does have a slight taper on the tail end so the depth does change a bit and I measured at the lowest point. Be aware that some of these dimensions are an approximation and could change based on printer tolerances and where the final resting place of the wall is!  Hope this helps!
