Crayford reducer adapted to Celestron SCTs

Updated to:

1. Use a smaller diameter main knob for more clearance from the diagonal on a C5. The new main knob is the same diameter as EleusisT's original.
2. Use snap fit connectors to secure the reducers' support to the secured base plate. This allows easy removal for the OTAs to fit into cases.
3. A new larger base is included for 6" and 8" SCTs as the focuser cover plate diameter is larger than the C5's. Since the 9.25" uses the same base plate as the 6" and 8" OTAs for the Celestron Focus Motor I imagine the large base would also work for it, but this is untested.

Ensure the nails are in place on the main knob first, then push the knob adapter into the back of the main knob.

The bracket is installed on top of the focuser cover plate. Remove 2 of the original screws (leave the other one in!) and reuse them to install the bracket.

The connector is pushed into the bracket, and the other side snaps into the reducers' support piece. A detach tool model is included for easier removal of the connector from the base.

Note that on a 5" SCT there is only a small amount of clearance between the Celestron 1.25" prism diagonal and the main focuser knob.

It's also best to use chantepierre's needle mod parts (now incorporated in the original model) to reduce wiggle in the small button. A size 5 darner needle (Michael's item 10340493) works great to hold things together.

1. A mounting bracket has been designed to fit onto the SCT's focuser cover plate. Two sizes are provided, one for C5s and another for C6s and C8s
2. The knob is modified so that an adapter can fit into one end
3. An adapter that mates the knob to the stock Celestron knob (slip fits over the stock knob) is included
4. The reducers' support piece has been modified to accept a snap fit connector
5. A snap fit connector is included to attach the mounting bracket to the reucers' support
