For this build you will need:
2x brass insert M3 (5x5 - diameter x height)

  • length does not matter so much, you can use longer ones, maybe even thicker, but I have not tested them. Holes are 4,5 mm in diamter to accomodate these

1x M3x8mm with sunk head

  • does not matter what key, I used hex since they were laying around

1xM3x10 mm with socket head

  • You will need a screw with flat bottom, since the cylinder will ahve to rotate around

Locktite - to secure cylinder to the top (prevents fastening or loosening of the bolt)

10x 6x2 mm magnets

  • These are used to lock the rotating head in position to easily remove cells and to hold the “gate” closed

Superglue - securing magnets in place

  1. After printing the parts, you can set the inserts on the top cap (marked red)

!Be carefull with magnet orientation!

!Holes for magnets are designed to be tight!

!Put a drop of super glue in the hole and press in the magnets if you are sure they will fit!

  1. Insert magnets into the green places (I used flathead screwdriver to evenly press in the magnets)
    1. Top cap has 2 magnets on the bottom and one on the side to hold the door closed
      1. take extra care, both magnets on the bottom must face the same way to attract themselves to magnets in the cylinder!
    2. Gate has one magnet on the side
  2. Using the M3x8 (sunk head) and locktite secure the door to the top cap
  3. Use 6 magnets (polarity reversed to the top cap magnets) in the cylinder
  4. Drop the screw in the cylinder fromt he bottom, add a drop of loctite in the insert and screw both pieces together. You can keep the tolerances loose, the magnets will atreact to each other and hold the top cap in place.

Now you are done, wait a few minutes for locktite to set and enjoy.

Happy printing!
