Creality K2 & CFS RFID Tag Adapter for Filament Spools

Ever wanted to reuse your Creality cardboard filament spools with RFID tags? Now you can! I designed a simple file that lets you attach an RFID tag to a Creality cardboard spool, making it readable by the Creality K2 and CFS system. 🎉

This is perfect for anyone using the new Creality K2 with the CFS system. The printer can read the RFID tags and detect what filament you’re using after programming, which is super handy for keeping everything organized.

But here’s the best part: thanks to an awesome app developed by DnG Crafts (huge shoutout! 🙌), you can program your own RFID tags. Pair that with this file, and you’re set to use your spools with auto detection, and you can now re-use that tag on a new spool instead of throwing it out. This will also place the tag at the correct location to be read by the CFS.

Here’s everything you’ll need:

  1. RFID tags (affiliate link) – Stick these to your spools.
  2. DnG Crafts app – Program your tags easily.
  3. DnG Crafts YouTube video – Watch how it all works.

This project is great for reducing waste and saving money on spools while keeping your filament game strong. 💪

Printed mine in PLA, 15% infill, 4 walls, concentric top and bottom, but i dont think it will matter too much.

Check it out, and let me know how it works for you. Feedback is always welcome, and I’d love to see your makes! Working on a polymaker holder as well, and YMMV on creality spools, as i have only really tested the hyper filaments at this point, and the holes are not a consistent size so some are hard to press in.
