After a couple seasons of expansion and contraction on my hard maple table saw miter runners, I needed a solution that would be consistent season to season. These table saw runners for SawStop miter slots were designed to fit on the MK4S printer bed and provide a stable runner. I designed this runner with chamfered top and bottom edge and rounded corners to avoid additional dimensions based on print settings or filament. 

A pair of these printed on my MK4S took just over 2 hours and used 86g of PETG filament. On my largest table saw sled, I used a total of 3 without any issue, simply placing 1 behind the other. My final prints fit tightly, but came into compliance after a couple minutes of moving back and forth through the slots.

Print Settings

Printed at 100% infill to create a durable and long lasting part. 

Note: I would recommend scaling the 25mm version to test fit in your miter track without wasting a bunch of filament. It should be tight but not difficult to move.

  • Layer Height/Quality: 020" Speed
  • Material: PETG
  • Infill: 100%
  • Perimeters: 2
  • Seam Position: Painted on front or rear of part to not interfere with dimension (see screenshot)
  • Textured bed to add additional glue surface area (should also work with smooth)

I used 3 different color PETG filaments over my testing and each fit a bit differently, so test until you get the right fit.

Installation

Materials

  • Fasteners: 3 - #6 x ¾" Flat Head wood Screws (per runner)
  • 3/32" Drill Bit
  • Adhesive:  Super Glue Gel (helps to ensure it doesn't run onto the cast iron top)
  • 2-3 fender washers that fit in track and lift runner above table saw surface
  • Sled: Minimum ½" Plywood 
  1. Place fender washers in miter slots
  2. Insert runners to rest on top of washers (ensure top of runner is sitting above cast iron top)
  3. Add super glue to runner (do not over apply)
  4. Place plywood on top of runners and apply pressure
  5. Once glue is set (around 60 seconds with Gorilla Super Glue Gel I used) slide the sled with runners attached out to miter tracks
  6. Flip sled over, drill holes in wood using the runner as a guide
  7. Insert screws in the corresponding holes
  8. Turn over and insert in table saw miter slots to ensure smooth operation (a tight fit will loosen with use)
