I bought a new knife and my current holder is not suitable. Was looking for something which is easy to print and small, but found that most of the ready models are made of a single piece for 6-10 hours printing and usually take a lot of space on the table. While I needed the most compact variant.

So I took fusion and designed my own variant. Holes are plant-cells like (my Son's idea). It is stable without side feets, but just to double sure it stands I've added side legs.

Pieces connected using heat set inserts. I am not a designer or any kind professional in 3d printing or modeling, but maybe someone will find this model handy. Don't blame me for the different placement of holes (they fit only in one layout).

You'll need:

  • 12x M3*L6*OD5 heat set inserts
  • 12x M3*8 SHCS (lengh can be different, parts has long holes)

I printed using eSun PETG-HS (3 walls, 0.2mm layer). Result is rigid enough.

Size of the knife's holes made big to suit different types of knives. And I was thinking of printing some soft inserts later to make the knives fit tighter… But it works fine as is.

Top piece might be hard to insert into the sides (as I didn't leave space in between), but in my case using PETG filament it just fit tight and steady. Only the top part I printed with support, the rest is printed as is. One piece is still printed in non-optimal orientation (standing), but it is a solid piece and its angles are almost vertical… Maybe there is a better option to split it and print multiple parts for the cheese knife holder… I have different variants and just made a hole for it to be big enough to fit any of them.

P.S. This was the only non-commercial license for free use and remixes. Inspired by https://www.printables.com/model/49126-knife-block model, but was fully designed from scratch. I can probably add sources if someone want to make adjucments.
