Description

PDF

The sword is designed to be 3D printed. Overall length at 100% scale is 1.5 meters. Several sections WILL require supports, but I've made an effort to keep them in easy to remove spots. Of particular note:

  • The interior of the hilt needs to be supported, so there can be a place to glue it on the handle
  • The bottom of the handle, so there is a place for screws and possible electronics
  • Several overhangs along the handle - it may be easier to use tree supports for it

The pommel and guard should both be okay without supports, as the details are small and, in the case of the pommel, sloped.

The blade is designed to be cut out of ¼ inch acrylic. It and the handle have 3 matching 4mm holes, designed to be fastened together with m4 screws in addition to adhesive.

There is a decent amount of empty space inside the handle for electronics and such. The pommel screws into the bottom so the interior can be easily accessed at any time.

Assembly:
  1. Slide the hilt up from bottom of the blade. It should give ample room to access the screw holes.
  2. Apply adhesives to the blade and set it into the handle. Screw it in.
  3. Glue the knuckle guard into place.
  4. Apply adhesives to the hilt, and slide it back down into place.
  5. Screw pommel into the handle.
