Grabbing small M3-like (or even smaller) nuts, screws or washers from a square box is fiddly especially when you need to pick a certain number of them which e.g. go into a small ziploc bag as part kits.
So, I needed some simple helper tool/organizer and this is what I came up with.
It provides a larger and deep bulk compartment in the back plus a slope towards a higher flat section. You can pull a bunch of parts from the back to the front where you can more easily count a certain quantity and then slide those over the ramp into a ziploc bag or similar.
An optional cover is available as well.
Turned out quite useful for me and so I share it here. Maybe it can help others as well.
I designed this in Fusion 360 and also share the f3d file. Most aspects of the box can be parameterized with user parameters. If you want to make it wider/longer/deeper or change the ratio of the sorting vs. bulk are or make the ramp outlet wider/smaller just go to modify→change parameters.
I printed several in PLA on a Prusa MK3S+ or a Bambu Lab P1S, both with Overture PLA Professional. The bottom part needs support under the ramp and I used automatically generated support since I don't really care about the bottom surface of the ramp.
3mf files are available for both MK3S+ and P1S.
