Note, there is a Version 2 here: https://www.printables.com/model/115157-giant-led-v2
…improved print time with less plastic, also brighter!

I love LEDs so I made a really big one for my desk. Using a Pixelblaze controller it can be controlled over WiFi to turn on/off/dim and change the color, using webhooks I can also use it as an indicator for Home Automation, such as turning green when the laundry is done, or red when the garage door is left open.

Legs are 6.5mm square aluminum rod from Home Depot which became the basis for the 12.5 to 1 scale of a typical LED.

Notches on bottom side of LED base allow you to route a wire, just strip and leave the bare end of the wire in the square hole before pushing the square rod into the hole, snug fit makes good electrical contact.

Base uses leaf spring push-in battery terminals such as https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06VTPWM6M to make contact with the legs. Simply solder the 5v power wires from a USB cable, then push the terminals in from the bottom, so they clip over the plastic support.

Only Giant LED (dome) needs supports in the center, what PrusaSlicer adds automatically on the build plate is perfect.
