A remix of the Aeropod model by @gglockner which incorporates a shroud inspired by @755123BE 's model.
(Feb 2025 Update) I added a model for an optional algae cover. Print it out of TPU and sleeve it over the pod, then place the transparent cap snug over the cover. Once your seedling is large enough to shade it's own substrate you can decide to remove the cover by pulling it apart at the split edge.
(March 2025 Update) Added a 'seed starter' design variation of the pod. It should be much easier to remove plugs and roots from these for transplant.
Changes Compared to Original:
- Reverse Engineered and Nurbs-Modelled from scratch for improved topology
- Incorporates a shroud, inspired by 755123BE's remix
- I thought the ribs on the original were a little too chunky, I made them slightly thinner and smoothed the profile.
- The fit was a bit wobbly in the original, and the remix didn't fit without scaling it down. I played with the dimensions to produce a version that fit a bit better in my AeroGardens. It has been tested to fit well with the Harvest and Bounty.
- Step and CAD file available
- (New) Anti-Algae Cover
- (New) An alternate version which has a slightly larger opening and a rounded leg design that makes it easier to remove plugs without damaging roots.
I also recommend the hole plugs by @Turtle_Hardbody - https://www.printables.com/model/399846-aerogarden-plug
