I wanted a way to mount some LEDs to my Anet A8. I also wanted to diffuse the light slightly. This is my solution. It is made in three parts; left side, top and right side. Although this would fit on my print bed I decided to make each part in two pieces. You will need to glue the parts together. I used CA extra thick. There is a dado in each part so the LED strip has a way to be held in. Each part just clips on the frame of the printer no fasteners required. Update: The LEDs I used were sold by Rextin, and may no longer be available, looks like they updated their design, here are the dimensions of what I did use so you can find an alternative 9.8 x 0.6 x 0.4 inches.

Print Settings

Printer:

Anet A8

Rafts:

No

**Supports:**

Yes

Resolution:

0.2

**Infill:**

20%

Notes:

I printed with 3D Solutech Natural Clear PLA

Post-Printing

Glueing the parts together

Sand the ends of the pieces getting glued - you'll get a much stronger joint if the ends are even.

Use tape to get the pieces tight together

Don't forge to test fit the LED strip

Lift the pieces up to expose the ends to be glued

When you lay it back flat the tape will ensure your pieces are aligned correctly. You should also have a little glue squeeze out, if you didn't add more glue.

Clean up the squeeze out the best you can

Just A Note ===========
