BTT Eddy is a tricky unit to get right. The requirement of the probe to be sitting 1.5-2 mm above the nozzle is a hard window to hit for different nozzle and hot-end configurations available for ender 3 (sprite extruder) models. I have tried several purpose made models available so far on printables, but none seem to work reliably. They were either too short or to close to the bed causing all sorts of issues with probing and homing.
This model aims to solve those issues by providing adjustable rail for screw mounts. It allows you to adjust the probe in real time and calibrate the system without needing to take it down and print over and over again.
No additional or custom hardware is needed. BTT Eddy provided 25 mm M3 bolts are sufficient to get it mounted. if you would like to get more tighter or permanent fit, add a m3 washer to the screw before tightening it.
Print parameters:
If possible print with 100% infill.
But at the least, print with 3 walls and 30% infill
[Calibration Block]
The cube is 20mm20mmx20mm. Used to configure the eddy current config
The flat surface is ~2mm.
While adjusting, make sure to pull the eddy probe until it meets the flat surface on the 2mm face of the calibration block, and then lock down the screws to tighten the probe. Once tightened, raise the nozzle until the probe is 20mm high. Use the 20mm cube on the block to ensure it is at the right height.
