44 Delta is proud to make the Summit EZ magnetic pick handles available for you to print at home. These handles, complete with required magnets, can be purchased at the following link: Summit EZ Pick Handles

These handles make the CI Echelon and Genesis picks more comfortable in the hand. And they add 10mm in length to the handle.

Size 20 or 25?

Each of the different STL folders below consists of two things you need to be aware of.

20 or 25 is simply intended to easily identify the pick thickness while these handles are mounted to the pick. There is no difference in the internal dimensions of the handles. It's just a label.

For a single pick you will need 1 Handle A and 1 Handle B. These two files are different from each other and are intended to mate together.

Project File Organization

In this project you will find several groupings of files (STLs) to suit your needs:

  1. Basic - Simple single color pick handles with the relevant pick size debossed near the tip of the handle.
  2. Colored Text - Choose this option if you want to have the pick size on the handles appear in some other, perhaps contrasting, color.
  3. 44 Delta Themed Full Multicolor - Want to go big and print the 44 Delta themed version of Summit EZ pick handles? Here you go!

Required Hardware

You are going to need magnets! These handles are designed to use 1/4in x 1/16in N52 disc magnets (emphasis on the N52 grading). You have two options:

  1. Support my small business (44 Delta) and purchase admittedly over priced magnets that are the same ones I use in the pick handles I sell: Magnets from 44 Delta
  2. Source the magnets yourself. Before you head straight to Amazon though, you should be aware that most magnets sold there with a claimed rating of N52 are anything but that (far weaker). Ask me how I know ;)

You will need 6 of these magnets per pick.

Printing

  • Orient each half of the pick handle so that the the face (outside) of the handle faces the print bed
  • 15% infill
  • No supports
  • Enable variable layer height and use small layer heights for the first layers (where the fillet around the handle is), and in the area where the two rails above the magnet channels are
  • .2 layer height for the rest is fine
  • For the multi color models, split the object into its constituent parts and color as needed
