Magnetic Key Holder - Penguin Style

I found the original Magnetic Keyholder and printed five of them for our household - they are very useful and really fun. A year later, my wife liked to have it in shape of a Penguin to gift our friends for christmas. So I accepted the challenge and designed this one.

Before building this model, please read the description of the original design for the magnets and the assembly.

The Front should be printed in two colors: white and the upper 0,6mm in black to have the right coloring. If you can't change the color, you can print in white and paint the upper face black.

The FootL and FootR are printed in orange, the Bill in yellow.

The backplate, links and wings are the files from the original design. I put them here to have the model complete. It would be a nice move to look at the original design and also thank the designer - without his work, this model wouldn't be possible.

From the original design I printed the wings in black, the links in blue (because of the eyes) and the backplate in white to match the front.

All parts were printed in Eryone PLA with 0,2mm layer hight.

After some light sanding of the inner flat faces and the holes, the two magnets can be glued to the backplate. I designed the holes for the magnets in the frontplate a little wider so using 8x3mm magnets is also possible.

When the glue has dried, all parts can be snapped together.

In the last step the feet and the bill are glued to the assembled model, I used superglue.

I built a Penguin style faceplate for the original Owl-shaped Magnetic Key Holder. The new parts are Front, Foot L & R, Bill.
