I got really sick of my sit/stand desk, and designing seperate brackets for every different power adapter I needed to attach to the underside of my desk.  this is important as when the desk is moving up and down if they're left to hang (they are never long enough to reach the floor obviously), they snag on everything and can be broken.

So, my usual approach is design a bracket, print, and hot glue to the bottom of my desk.

Now, the design part is reduced to, enter the dimensions I need, export and print.  Much quicker :)

I also provided facilities to add an arbitrary number of screw holes, which if you provide a screw head diameter that is different from the shaft, will also create a tapered hole so you can use a flat head screw.

Tolerance is another parameter, default to 1mm in both width and height, adjust as needed for your printer and material, i generally just print these slightly big, and if i need to tighten the fit for some reason, use some tape or sponge… really anything you can jam in there.

Since someone will ask, why hot glue? Because, if you use a hot air gun, or hair dryer you can easily heat the glue enough to release whatever is stuck, so you can modify the setup without permanent damage.  Dont try this on drywall though, use 3m command strips.

update Jan 16,2025: fixed a bunch of the math for different radius/thickness combos, and apply the tolerance parameter as I actually intended.
