Tried designing 3D printable steering wheels for my Moza base. Still very WIP. Dials and switches not worked out yet.

Thought it would be fun to try to design wheels to print for my Moza QR. I don't have any NRG systems. I might have to tweak some dimensions to make ones that aren't the 2.0 fit.

All of these are printable without supports. You do need good bridge settings.

  • Added Test 300 |):
  • R250: Caterhams and older formula
  • O280: Trackday cars and some GT
  • F280: Modern formula, GT, Prototypes etc.
  • R300: GT and road cars
  • D300: Flat bottom for fanciness.
  • R330: Road cars, drift and rally

Line width: 0.6mm (0.4mm nozzle)

Layer height: 0.15mm

Walls: 2-3 Alternate extra

Other settings:

  • Adaptive Layer height for top curve.
  • Archimedean Chords on bottom layer
  • Fuzzy skin on rim

Another thing I was thinking of was possibly adding a pause right before the first top layers to add some epoxy. The extra mass might help it feel more like a normal wheel.

I'm working on flippers and rotaries, though they are far from finished (suggestions appreciated).
