This adapter imitates polaroid instant film, and allows you to put instax square film into polaroid film magazines.
To use it you will need empty 600 (with working battery) or SX-70 film cartridge, one used polaroid picture or Darkside (I found old pics easier to work with), and some tape.
You need to remember that instax film will give you mirrored image, as its designed to work in different type of camera. Also its faster than polaroid film, but exposure compensation in camera set to lower its enough to get correct picture.
Printing settings:
- material - PLA, but PET-G, ASA, ABS and others should be fine also
- layer - 0,08 mm or lowest possible, including first layer (most printers are set to make first layer 0,2 and then others thinner, its necessary to change that here!)
- color of material - anything is good, as we don’t need it to be lightproof
- others - textured bed is good, as it adds roughness to bottom side (less slipping in rollers)
Using adapter:
LERN TO DO IT ON DUMMY FILM FIRST!
And of course do later everything in full darkness.
- Prepare empty polaroid cartridge, one adapter, one instax sheet, and precut piece of tape (brown packing or transparent one)

- Put instax film in correct orientation as on picture
(front side down, and with chemical bags facing thinner side of adapter)

- Align it using grove

- Put tape over connection at front. Leave some space for rollers to grab the adapter, as tape is to slippery for them. Don't put tape on black part (film) as it will appear on developed image as distortion.
- Slide pack inside film magazine (remember to push down all springs before)

- push it all the way to the end (adapter should fit fully inside cartridge)

- While putting next one, press down film (don't press chemical bags!) that is already inside and watch out for situation like this:

- Repeat how many times you need (i have no idea how many can be fited inside, probably around 8, as thickness is the same as dedicated polaroid film).
DONT FORGET TO LEAVE SPACE FOR DARKSLIDE!

- As polaroid shout out darkslide automatically, we don’t want to waste one pic for that. that’s why you need original darkslide or dummy (already developed polaroid) picture.

- As before, press down everything inside, and slide your preferred darkslide

- Take your loaded pack from darkroom and put it inside camera. dimmed light is not dangerous to cartridge secured by picture or darkslide. But i would not risk to take it on daylight for long.
Enjoy shooting!
Conclusion:
- ADAPTER MUST BE PRINTED VERY THIN TO WORK!!! 0,2 mm layer won't work!
- If done correctly, adapter should work as good as original film.
- Uneven development that appears on my photos is caused most likely by my damaged camera, and should not appear on fully working ones. If do, please contact me.
- If you mess up as shown on picture in step 7, camera will try to ejeckt two or more images. It most likely will jam the camera.
- Polaroid 600 film cartridges should hold battery for at least one full reload of film, but to achieve fully reusability, its better to use cameras with power separate from film cartridge (SX-70, or 600 with outside battery mode).
