I made a modification with trapezoidal threaded rods that you can find here: https://www.printables.com/model/1742600

That's a massive thing. I wish I had scaled it down to 75 or 80%. Nonetheless, it is a nice model, thank you.

I modified it to have trapezoidal threads with a pitch of 4 and a flange angle of 35°, as usual vices have. Unfortunately, the license doesn't allow to publish a remix of the five modified files (frame, vice, mounting plate, and threaded rods). Maybe you could decide to allow remixes. I think many people would appreciate it.

For the guide rods I will use 10mm aluminium rods. No need (at least for me) to print those things if there are better options available. Currently it works fine without them.

Scaled the retaining clip for the threaded rod in z direction to 2mm.

My print settings:
* PETG (TPU 95 for the rubber parts)
* 0.2 layers
* 4 perimeters
* 1.5mm minimum shell thickness
* 30% gyroid infill
* support: everywhere, snug, rectilinear, 0.2mm top contact z distance

I printed the bolts upright since my printer allows for that height. (edited)

Nice model! Seen here holding a smaller vise.

Having used this for a few days, I can say that the only thing I would change is the threading - for my use, a much courser threading would be helpful.

not only well designed, but also esthetically pleasing!

used PLA for the frame, PETG for the rods and TPU-85A for the pads

would suggest to print the two screws at a 45° angle with lots of perimeters for best trade-off between strength and quality of impression

It really does work. Printed with .2 layer height and 20% infill on the bits. 30% infill on the body.

wow! This vise is surprisingly strong for being fully 3D printed! Consider me impressed!
I used basic settings for almost all of the pieces. .2mm layer height with 15% infill. The only piece I increased the infill on was the base. I printed that on it's side with 40% infill for more strength.

The screw also needed to be printed at an angle to fit my print area, but that didn't seem to affect the dimensional attributes of the piece.

Thanks for the model! (edited)

Nice little helper (edited)

Amazing model. Just what I needed for my indoor work area. Takes a while to unscrew and tighten the vise, but I guess that's just the limitations of the plastic to still get the strength.

Amazing print! Everything just fit into place. Maybe, the best print I've seen so far.

The only thing I had to do was use a rubber mallet to get the grips into place.

Super pratique, mais il serait possible d'apporter des améliorations. Je vais travailler et essayer de créer mon propre étau.
