Description

This is a case which holds the current Zettle terminal, its printer, two rolls of paper and has ample room in a separate compartment for the charger and charging cable with a bit of space left over for other items.

If you would like to see a colour 3D preview of this design with optional AR when viewed on a compatible mobile device please click here.

The model was designed by scanning the Zettle hardware with a MetroX, the scans were then reverse engineered with Quicksurface Pro, which were used to produce this case in Shapr3D. Hence, this is a premium model.

The case features a new latch I designed for this model. With the addition of feet to match the height of the hinges it is able to stand up straight on the hinged side. The handle is also hinged, to help it use up less space when in storage.

This model requires the following hardware for assembly:

  • 12x M3 inserts - Ruthex or CNC Kitchen are the correct size
  • 4x M3 nylon lock nuts
  • 4x M3 washers
  • 4x M3x20 hex cap screws
  • 4x M3x16 hex cap screws
  • 4x M3x12 hex cap screws
  • 4x M3x8 hex cap screws

Printing Notes

Bambu Studio at the time of writing will complain about the plate with the bottom half on due to its proximity with the tower. Please slice this and check it, it should be OK.

Assembly

On the front of the bottom part of the case install inserts into the holes indicated.
On the front of the top part of the case install inserts into the holes indicated.

The top half of the case, on the inner hinge parts, has a hexagonal hole. Insert one of the nylon lock nuts into this hole.

Do the same for the hinge on the opposite side.

Place the top half of the case onto the bottom in the correct orientation as pictured.

Be careful that the lock nuts do not fall out.

Supporting the locknut on the opposite side with your finger, screw in an M3x20 screw into the other side as indicated.

Do the same for the hinge on the opposite side. Do not do them up too tight, or you may damage the hinge.

Find the upper latch parts and screw them into the lid using 2x M3x16 on each side.

If you look at the picture you can see the shape of the groove in the top to help you get it in the correct orientation.

Align the pictured latch parts noting their orientation. Insert a nylon lock nut into one side as pictured.

Supporting the nut with your finger, connect the other side using an M3x20 screw.

Do not over-tighten the screw or the latch parts will not move.

Place the hinge over the main body of the latch as pictured.

Attach the latches on both sides using M3x8 screws.

This is probably easier to do with the lid open rather than closed as pictured!

Align the handle and hinges as pictured. Note the orientation of the hinges.
Place the handle and hinges on the front of the case and connect with the M3x12 screws and washers.
Congratulations, you are done!
