Arthur the caterpillar is based on a character from a children's tv show in the 1980's called ‘willow o wisp’.
its designed to be printed in 6 colours , at a layer height of either .15 or .1 at 100% scale . this will yield a character of about 13 cms tall. Anything smaller and detail will probably be missing .
I used prusa slicer and use this method to load the parts , other slicers will be different , so might need some experimentation.
To import the parts into prusa slicer make sure you have the ‘Prusa xl 5 Colour’ or ‘ mmu’ profile selected , go to import stl's , select body, face, mouth, teeth, cheeks, mask, eyes, brows, pupils, arms , then click import, when prusa slicer asks ‘multiple objects detected’ it will want to treat mutilple parts as one object says ‘YES’. If everything goes well you can control all the parts using the one object at the top of the list.
do the same with the base , files ‘base1’, ‘base2’, ‘base3’, ‘base4’.
toparm1 and toparm2 are printed separately, push fitted and glued onto the model and then with some heat manipulated/bent into shape. The method is also used for Arthur's tail and plumage feathers , using leaf1, leaf2, leaf3 files.
print the box separately .
I have included the ‘arthur.3mf’ and 'base.3mf' files as i would print on my ‘prusa xl 5 tool’ purely as a guide.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
