As my search for a motorcycle alarm holder plate was not successfull I made it myself using my motorcycle seat to create this. The plate is located under the seat of the Honda Africa Twin SD06 (maybe it also fits other models but I don't know yet, please leave a comment if you have another Honda motorcycle where this also fits) where it holds the original owner's manual. As you can see on the pictures, the owner's manual is going in first, followed by my creation. It's designed to snap-fit so you won't need any other mounting materials. The motorcycle alarm is mounted to the plate with two zipties that hold it in place. I just used the mounting strips to dampen the alarm device against the plate.

This worked great on my motorcycle holiday in 2023 from Austria to Greece and back. As I originally printed it in PLA (and with some filament leftovers, that's why it looks a little bit coloful) it didn't really stay as I printed it because of the high air temperatures in 2023 and deformed a little. Anyway, it did what it was made for and didn't fall apart until today. Now I've printed it in Jet-Black-Prusament PETG to make the whole thing nearly invisible under the seat.

To mount the zipties the right way, please see the last two pictures. Those zipties that came with your Prusa-printer will do just fine. For those without a Prusa printer I recommend buying nylon cable ties size 2.5x160mm (as those can be used for several mounting procedures).

The plate works for this motorcycle-alarm sold on amazon: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B077GW7QWY/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B077GW7QWY&pd_rd_w=38yTQ&content-id=amzn1.sym.6ffc9ff7-fa31-49da-8594-196e74bcf61e&pf_rd_p=6ffc9ff7-fa31-49da-8594-196e74bcf61e&pf_rd_r=NBDDTKMFKE701ZEKEQKA&pd_rd_wg=mpB3N&pd_rd_r=c2172d54-16c9-4c68-90c9-2f610872bd90&s=diy&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9kZXRhaWw

My print-settings for PLA or PETG:

  • Support set to automatic at 25° (everywhere, very few supports needed)
  • 3 shells
  • 5 bottom and top layers
  • Infill doesn't matter (there won't be infill)

As this was another Tinkercad-creation I'm not able to share .step-Files :(

Please leave me a comment if you like it. If you don't like it, please also leave me a comment and tell me how I could do better. Remixes and Makes welcome!
