The original grinder shields were broken, so I made a replacement. I tried printing new shields in transparent PETG, but I couldn't get them clear enough, so I bought a clear acrylic plate 4mm and printed frames in black ABS instead.

I included the model for the complete shields in case someone wants to print one as template for cutout of the acrylic plate.

Print instructions

  • 0.20mm Structural
  • 2 Perimeters on Verical shells
  • Print direction as provided in the model
  • Filament: ABS (although PLA or PETG should also be fine)
  • 100% rectilinear infill

Mounting

Prepare to grind the acrylic a lot until the cutout fit perfectly inside the frames.

Use superglue around all edges of the acrylic to glue it together with the frame.

Use the original bolt to attach the new shields to the grinder.
