This is the first (finished) model of my goal to make 3D Printed french cleat mounts for all of my power tools in the garage. The “arms” on this design act as mild springs so that the drill slides onto it like it was a battery (battery must be removed from drill first). There is a small cut on the point of the french cleat surface for 2 reasons; to make it easier to print, and to stop the mount from sitting incorrectly should dust or debris build up in the french cleat wall.
The design feels very strong when printed in PETG. When removing the drill, you have to put slight pressure downwards to keep the french cleat engaged, or add a lock to keep in place.
My french cleat wall consists of ¾" plywood cut at a 45 degree angle, yours may vary. If you need me to modify some measurements to accomodate something different I'm happy to do so, just send me a message.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
