Description:

This design houses the Gaggiuino Headless E177 PCB and provides mounting options for the outside of an espresso machine.

Lights, buttons, and USB-C port are accessible with the case installed.

There are 2 versions:

  • Magnets - glue magnet(s) to the back to mount (minimum recommended thickness: 1 mm)
  • VentClips - clips into the rear vents of a Gaggia Classic/Pro/Evo/E24. Note that it is purposely spaced away from the vents so it doesn't affect their function, keeps the ESP32 away from hot air, and spaces the Wi-Fi antenna away from the metal housing.

Print Settings:

PETG (needs flexibility for clips, snaps, buttons), 0.4 mm walls, 0.2 mm layer height, thin walls (0.4 mm) enabled.

Print orientation as modeled, no supports.

Notes:

Connect the JST-PH (power + signal) connector before inserting the PCB into the housing.

Make sure the PCB is fully inserted before closing the housing. The housing is designed to not close if the PCB is not properly inserted.

The housing relies on gravity to retain the PCB when the cover is open - do not place upside down!

Changelog:

  • 2025-01-29 - changed profile of base locating features to reduce risk of jamming, split spacer rails to make it easier to insert the PCB
  • 2025-01-21 - Updated for E177v1.1 PCB. E177v1 files archived
