The original Summit wallet is great for being a 3d printed alternative to the ridge wallet. However, I found a couple of issues that I wanted to fix myself…in general this is a GREAT wallet that not only looks great but is fully functional as well! It also only costs about fraction of the price to make!

Print Settings:

Infill - 15%

Material - PLA/PETG

Layer Height - 0.15

Build Instructions:

To assemble follow the same build guide as listed in the original model EXCEPT FOR THE FOLLOWING!!!:

  • When cutting the elastic make the following changes:
    • Cut the first piece to a length of 175/200mm
    • Cut the second piece to length of 65/95mm
    • Cut the third piece to 145mm
    • Sew as original…
  • Add some M3 shims in between front and middle layers on both sides (see image below). This helps with the warping problem and any inconsistencies in the print itself. Remember to add shims with EVERY screw!

The rest of the assembly is as normal…feel free to add in some layer changes or even a logo for extras ;)  !

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

  • Larger gap to help accommodate the thick elastic.

(LEFT is the original - you can see the elastic is too thick, causing the plastic to bend in an awkward bulge.

RIGHT is the new remix - no more bulging of the plastic!)

  • Larger card capacity (altered elastic lengths)
  • Use of shims
  • The ability to use regular M3 X 4 screws (new model sinks the screws a bit).
