A fairly straightforward fan mount for a 120mm PC case fan to take the place of 3x 5.25" optical drive bays. You can also Customize it to use a 92mm fan or an 80mm fan (if that's all you have), but there are probably better Things here to use if you're using those fans. (Since Thingiverse Customizer is somewhat broken, I recommend the excellent OpenSCAD Playground to play around with it. I've also included premade .stl files for those fan sizes.) If the screw holes are too large, or if you want to remove the beveling to use round-head screws, you can also Customize that. (You can even change the specific dimensions of the case opening, if you're using one with a weird size, but the model won't prevent you from making it too small to use so watch out for that.)

Remixed from this model and Thing 2936935, which are themselves remixes of Thing 2446552.

I highly recommend using Thing 6143339 as a fan grill and printing in a different color, because it looks super cool. (If you'd rather stay on Printables, this model is more or less the same thing.) I personally mounted this with a carbon filter between the fan and the front panel using two prints of Thing 6143339. I used flat-head #8-32 screws to hold it all together, though the print is designed to use self-tapping fan screws and can use #6 machine screws if you Customize it that way.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

I created the base design from scratch in OpenSCAD and used the two base Things as templates for the sizing and general positioning of stuff, keeping the idea of only two mounting brackets (because a third is superfluous and a waste of filament) and making them thick enough to have strength. I also widened the screw holes to accommodate the standard #6 machine screw often used to hold optical drives in place.
