I was working on another project in my office, and I noticed that it was cold, but my parents didn't turn on the heater. I thought maybe I could work in my bed, but I didn't have space to put my laptop and mouse. I was also participating in a game jam soon, so I decided to build this table so I could work on my projects in bed.

For a table this size to be able to have a removable top, I had to incorporate some sort of supports into the bottom. Fully 3d printing them would be time consuming and expensive, so I tested a few different methods to create these supports.

The one I found worked the best was by embedding holes in each of the table legs and putting crop sticks through them to form a stable frame which I could then put the surface and wheels on.

I designed the table leg in tinkercad, it was quite simple. The filled area and triangular brace accomodates a hole for a stick, as well as supporting the surface above. The whole for the sticks in the other direction is located further down. The wheel is mounted below the main section, and the leg extends further down to keep the wheel in place(this is rolling on "rails" on my bed)

I 3d printed these legs and glued the rods in place with hot glue. During the assembly phase, I noticed that the "aligners" on the top that I had designed were slightly too close together and the whiteboard didn't fit, so I snapped them off on one side with pliers.

This was the largest project I have ever attempted up to today, but I do plan on making even larger projects in the future.
