-------- IMPORTANT NOTES -------------
- This is a working prototype for this armrest slider and it may get updates in the future. Please feel free to remix the design to your liking. I actively encourage remixes and have even included the full F360 project file for you to download, tweak, and share in the remixes tab!
- Im not sure how to upload videos into here so I have included links to the videos I have of this project working for you to see for yourselves. They will be linked down in the links section.
- This design was made for the Sihoo Ergonomics Office Chair, I have included a link to the chair in the links section as well.
-------- BACKGROUND (yapping) --------------
I recently bought a Sihoo Ergonomics Office Chair from Amazon and while the chair is great and relatively cheap it lacks the ability to adjust the armrests forward and backward which I found to be very annoying. So I decided to create my own solution for this issue and here it is! The Arm Rest Slider. If you have the same chair feel free to try it out and share your experience. Even if you have a different chair, I have included the F360 models for you to edit, use, and upload as remixes for the community. you can always reach out to me if you need help or have questions about the design :)
-------- PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS -------------
- The base file can be printed without supports and with the circular bumps facing upwards
- The slider must be printed upside down and with supports enabled, the supports should only be needed on the clicking mechanism and the slider guide arms. (shown in images above)
- The print settings I used are: 0.2 mm layer height, 15% sparse infill, and a 0.4 mm nozzle. (you are welcome to try your own settings this is just what I used, please let me know how your parts turn out for other types of settings if you use them, all feedback is appreciated)
-------- ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS -------------
Please test fit the parts before final assembly onto the chair
- Once the parts are done remove the supports from the slider (they should come off easily)
- Test fit the base and slider together to ensure that they snap into place as shown in the images above (you can pull on the slider guide rails in the base part to make more room if needed so that the slider's guide arms can snap into place).
- After the test fit, remove the slider from the base and screw the slider part into the armrest cushion using the screws that were removed from the chair when you took the armrest off (the 2 black screws)
- Now you can secure the base part to the chair either with screws or using zip-ties, I have shown images of both methods above.
- Finally, you can snap the 2 parts together and you should have a working armrest slider!
- ENJOY! feel free to message me for help at any point during the process or comment on ways you solved an issue you had so others can also use that information :)
