Based upon a previous design approach for a Raspberry Pi 4 (see here), this is another two part enclosure/case now sized for the NVIDIA Jetson Orin dev kit.
The design has been made as compact as possible, providing good air flow through the cooling fan that is a standard supplied component for the dev kit, as well as allowing access to most of the unit's available ports/connectors. In particular a snap-out opening for the 40-pin GPIO connector allows a ribbon connector to be used to provide easy access to the GPIO pins.
8mm M3 pan head screws are used to ‘self-tap’ connect the case lid to the case base, firmly sandwiching the dev kit assembly in between.
Self adhesive feet are used to raise the case above the surface to allow cool air to flow in from beneath the case which has open slots in its base - particularly important as this build has a 1TB NVME SSD installed.
More detail on the usage context will be made available in due course from this site.
All the components use 1.75mm PLA and a layer height of 0.15mm with print details for each component produced on an i3 Mk3 shown in the table below.
component file name/description | brim (mm) | support | filament length (m) | print time (i3 Mk3) |
orin_base04.stl: case base | none | none | 8.98 | 2h 41m |
orin_lid03_roty180.stl: case lid | none | support boxes for the corners | 12.58 | 4h 23m |
