Into 1:72 scale model radio control ships. Usually we buy 1:72 scale fibreglass hulls from somewhere like APS Models and then scratch build the rest of the ship ourselves (e.g. propellers, motors, servos, radios, deck, superstructure)
This is my attempt to create a hull in Fusion 360 that actually got somewhere. Been trying for a while and failed many times.
This is a model of an old tender that was used in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) as HMAS Protector to support the trials of the Collins Class submarines. It was later sold to Defence Maritime Services (DMS) and renamed/repainted as Seahorse Horizon to support naval officer training at the RAN College. Spent a week onboard back in 2007. It has been sold again and is no longer operated by defence.
That said I think this is where I'm stopping on this model, and moving onto something else to refine the process. Obviously it's missing the weather shield on the forecastle, the rubbing strakes and the superstructure.
Therefore uploading a 3MF, STL and Fusion 360 file (with a really messy timeline) for anyone else to play around with.
