This is a better hotend fan housing that allows 40mm fans to be installed and highly reduce noise level of your printer.

Modifications that are made:

  1. Cleanup the BL/CR-Touch holder.
  2. Removed the hotend screw bracket (in the center of the fang) for better air flow to the hotend unit. There is no need to bolt the fang to the hotend and then to the printer. The 2 screws on the left side are more than enough to hold it in place. This makes taking it apart a little easier and less complicated while providing much more airflow.
  3. Hotend "guiding" has been removed. This makes it compatible with most metal hotends (like Micron Swiss). ---------Updates in v2 version---------
  4. Left holding screw hole is larger now, makes it a little easier to screw in since tolerances were pretty tight
  5. Added escape routes for bolts (it was pretty hard to remove a bolt before) and removed some bolts spots (this is not a tank and does not need 4 screws and bolts to hold a fan)
  6. Removed the big 2 columns in the center because.. they serve no purpose and only add print time and mats
  7. Fixed some others things here and there in an attempt to make it easier to print with less failing points ---------ReducedReworkMesh--------- 3/27/2023
  8. Re-meshed the entire model
  9. Removed top left fan screw for the hotend since it was not practical and not needed
  10. Model should now be watertight and easier to print since its geometry is accurate

FANS USED:

  • Noctua NF-A4x20 FLX - To cool the hotend, it is important to get this model because of the increased airflow it has over the others.
  • Noctua NF-A4x10 FLX - For the fan duct

NOTE: All fasteners used are M3. I have personally bought all 12mm and cut to size depending on what needed.

IMPORTANT: Make sure to not overtight anything too much, this is still plastic, and it breaks easily while screwing things in. You are not building a rocket...

Supports are only required for just the Fang itself, the CR/BLTouch mount does not require supports.

IMPORTANT: Orientation is showed in the files for best print (gave me no problems) Support Placement: Touching Buildplate ^ DO NOT DO EVERWHERE or the inside of the fang will get filled
