Wrapping the 8mm extruder sleeve on my MK4S was already painful but the nervous breakdown came with the 5mm sleeve on the heatbed cables, hence a tool.

How it works :

  • (Photo 2) The cables are inserted in the central channel and the sleeve is slid around the tool bottom length in a way such that each sleeve “lip” slides in the V-shaped grooves on the right and left sides.  Make sure that you did select the right sleeve end to start with, such as the upper lip stays on the left side of the tool.
  • (Photo 3) You then gently pull the tool whilst rotating it around the cable to get the recommended twist. The tool shape makes the right sleeve lip curling down first around the cable and then the left one atop. You have to maintain the cable sliding in the central channel, either by inserting something (e.g. a filament) through the 2mm holes or just blocking it with the index finger, this worked for me…

How to print : PLA is fine, printed vertically on the flat channel end with a brim and supports on the build plate. Gcode is provided for MK3S, MK4S and MK4S/MMU3.

Attached files : on top of g-code and amf files, the FreeCAD model has been produced with FreeCAD 1.0 but can be edited with Freecad 0.21.2. The part on the pictures has been printed with my MK4S/MMU3.

For the 8mm sleeve, the limiting item is the wire channel diameter (5mm). I suppose an upscaling in PrusaSlicer would work but I didn't check for myself.

Good luck for your own assembly…
