I want to use a Sonoff SNZB-04 Wireless Door/Window Sensor outside to check on the status of my yard gate.

I neither trust the original case to be wind/water/weather proof, nor do I believe in sticky tape (especially outdoors).

So I made this model.

Does it even work? I don't know yet (long-term test), but do I trust it more? Definitely.

Take the sensor out of its original case (I didn't want two layers of plastic weakening the magnet) and push it into the slot. The slot is designed so you can't get the orientation wrong, but just to make sure: the long black thingy should sit under the arrow that's printed on the outside. The pairing button will be easily accessible to you (when the lid is off).

You'll need an M3*8 screw to secure the lid in place. Press the nut into the small slot on the back and screw it on.
Use two size 3, 3,5 or 4 wood screws to secure the sensor at its destination.

I printed in Bambu Lab PETG HF.
Use white and you'll even be able to see the LED shine through.

Do you also need a rugged version of the contact/magnet?
I designed that one as well: Rugged Window/Door Sensor Contact/Magnet
