Accessible Words board game with brailled board and tiles.

Available in 2 languages (English and French).

The English Language tiles set contain 114 tiles, and the French Language tiles set contains 113 tiles.  Tile scores are from 1 to 12 points, depending on the word frequency in the language.

The letter frequencies have been taken from wikipedia.

Rules of Play

A dictionary should be agreed before the game starts, and all words should appear in the dictionary.

Each player takes 5 tiles, and then in a clockwise direction, takes it in turns to place words on the board, adding up your score as they go.

If any player manages to play all their tiles in one go, the maximum number of tiles that player may hold is increased by one (up to a maximum of 8 tiles).

If a player chooses to pass a go, he must select three of his tiles, and swap them with three tiles from the bag (unless there are not more tiles left in the bag).

The direction of play is reversed whenever one of the following happens:

  1. A player plays all of their tiles in one go.
  2. A player chooses to pass.

The game ends when the first person reaches 350 points, or there are no more letters available.

A variant of the game where only words which are normally capitalised should be used, for example, names of people, towns, countries etc. (all must be spelled in the language of play, so, for example, London is valid with the English tiles, but with the French tiles, it must be Londres).
