Ofcourse being a big star wars fan. the Mandalorain is going to be right up there.
I always wanted to do a really cool Mythosaur, but my skulpting skills are still very limited.
I found this amazing model done by KirkieballCanada and was going to print it as it was.
I found some cool reference pics to full models front and back and decided to give Kirks one a go.
I only used Meshmixer skulpting tools as that seamed simple enough, so I was able to enlarge the horns rethicken the whole model, create depth and hollow the eyes and add a lot more cracks, splits and scratch's plus some teeth on the rear as well as modify the front teeth.
The good bones ; ) so to speak are still in there from Kirk, all I did was have a go at putting my spin on it.
As with all models, I would have like to have done more! But overall I'm very happy with it. So much so. I printed it myself at 600mm tall.
I've included all the split files and was able to print this over two days on my CR10 8mm nozzel. Now I only used infil on the top piece of the head part and the rest I did NOT do any TOP or BOTTOM Layers and set the WALL thickness ONLY to a thickness of 3.."THREE"..
NO SUPPORTS so there was some areas that did not form well, but on organic models like this, by the time I fill it it in with ABS slurry and give a lite coat of slurry liquid to hide the print lines, you can never tell anyway. I used just under 980gms of filament and Print time in total was just on 34hrs, no sanding, so just need to now source some paint ; 0
We are in lock down at the moment, so when I have a chance, I'll get to painting it.
Then I have to find some wall space to hang it ; )
Cheers Jace
