Mercury One.1 Inside Frame Stepper Mounts

Modified mounts that keep the stepper motors inside the frame of the printer for easy enclosing.

I wanted to enclose my printer without buying new extrusions (https://www.printables.com/model/1099998-ender-5-plus-mercury-one1-enclosure-top-hat). This was tricky to do with the stock motor mount that overhang the rear of the printer.

Benefits of this mod:
  • Allows the printer to be more easily enclosed
  • Removed an unused M5 vertical pillar, increasing printable area.
  • Removed fillet on the bottom of each printed part.
Inspiration :

The bottom profile photo shows the difference in overhang.

The top profile photo also shows the increased print area. With the nozzle at the rear left corner, there should be just enough clearance between the fan and the mount and NEMA17 motor.

Warnings:
  • This hasn't been printed to verify since I don't have access to an ASA/ABS capable machine. I'll be building a Voron V0 soon and will update once it's printed and tested.
