Semi-finished, fully constrained model of the MK4S+ extruder.
I used all of the Prusa provided STLs, converted them to STEP and remodeled the interfacing geometries.
I also took several community STLs and remodeled them 100% for as much fidelity as possible (within reason).
There are at least a few collisions I've highlighted.
- Collision between Nozzle and Idler Lever: This has been half "fixed" in the model. When the Heatsink is drawn to be visually representative, the nozzle collides with the pivot of the idle lever. Something's funky with either the Heatsink nozzle hole or the mounting holes. Needs further investigation.
- Collison between Fan Shroud and Fan Case: these are both official Prusa files but they collide when fully constrained. Because of this I have saved them in an approximated ideal position.
- Collison between Bracket and Nextruder Heatsink: Possiblly due to community STLs however I'm not positive. Needs further investigation.
- Honorable mention: Strangely the X-Carriage Back official Prusa STEP file is non-manifold, I had to close it manually and re-cut all the interfaces. The geometry should be spot on but it's ugly.
An assembly model for the entire printer has been uploaded as well.
THIS IS THE MK4S+ Extruder mounted on an OLD MK3S assembly from GrabCAD. I added the X-Ends and adjusted the Rods but this model has not been worked on very much. Only uploading for convenience.
