Orchid Magazine

This is a 20 round, printed magazine for half length foam darts. It uses a similar follower with constant force spring design to coatducks' Vorpal Magazines, but for a Talon magazine profile.

• 4x 2.6x10mm self tapping screws
• 1x 2mm x 22mm nail
• 1x 6mm wide constant force spring

Rationale

I really like the design of Vorpal Mags but don't use katana mag blasters. I wanted a similar magazine for my talon blasters. I started with sure.t horizontal print in place magazines, and added channels for the Vorpal style follower, as well as brackets for screwing an end cap in place. 

I print all parts in ABS in a single batch without supports on a PEI sheet then assemble.

Assembly Instructions

1. Wind the spring onto the idler
2. hook the outer end of the spring coil into the cutout in the side of the mag with the orchid logo. The spring must install winding anti-clockwise as you look at the mag from the narrow end. 
3. Thread about 20mm of the spring through the cutout and looped back into the magazine.
4. Using a string, hook a loop between the idler and the mag body and pull the spring + idler from the top of the mag to the bottom. Hook the idler + spring onto the bottom of the mag.
5. Install the nail through the idler.
6. Snap the idler and nail into the bottom of the follower. The follower must have its longer end pointing into the narrow end of the Orchid Mag. The idler should spin freely.
7. Install the follower into the magazine, when released the spring should pull the follower all the way to the top.
8. Add the end cap and screw into place with the 2.6mm screws
