Nervous about adjusting your guitar pickup height? Fear no more! Here's an easy tool to make it easy.
Fret the 6th string at the last fret and slide the side larger end (1/8″) of the gauge between the string and your pickup. If you have room between the polepiece and the string, raise your pickup until the gauge just touches the string. If the gauge is interfering with the string, lower the pickup until it just touches. It’s that easy!
After that, do the same with your first string and the smaller end (3/32″). Check your again your 6th string settings as it may have changed if your moved (up or down) the treble side a lot. And check the first again.
You may rework the heights to better suits your preferences.
That's it! You now have optimized your pickup height.
