Laser pointer

This design is a compact laser pointer to play with your cat. It is powered by three AAA batteries. Required components and assembly instructions are written below.

The internal structure is separated in to parts for an easier printing (no supports). You can glue them together using superglue.

Assembly

Glue each side of the internal structure together

You can use superglue for that. Be sure to align correctly each side.

Add electronics components

This design uses:

• A laser module (for example, this one: https://amzn.eu/d/efgrUQe)
• An end stop switch (for example: https://amzn.eu/d/416ShLF ; just remove the metal lever)
• Contact plates for batteries (for example: https://amzn.eu/d/bAcf9km ; you can recover them from old electronics devices, as I did)

You can reuse surplus wire from the laser to connect everything together.

The circuit is very simple:

• +4.5v from batteries goes to the end stop switch
• The other side of the end switch is connected to the red wire of the laser
• The blue wire of the laser is connected to the ground of the battery

Assemble every part together

Put the button (3D printed part) in place and then press the end switch and slide the internal structure into the cover.

Close the laser pointer

Add the last contact plate and close the laser pointer.
